The beauty and diversity of the landscape between Colorado and Phoenix were incredible. From the views of fourteeners around Leadville and a sunrise over the landforms in Monument Valley to the vistas of the Grand Canyon and the cacti of the Arizona desert, the trip provided an incredible inventory of the vast western landscape. The power and fragility of nature were on full display throughout the trip, as were the effects of human activity and development. The photographs in the series are a tribute to the beauty and importance of America's public lands.
