A visual journal of things I've seen and places I've been.

Self Portrait

This was taken in the Noisette area of North Charleston. The area used to be the Charleston Navy Yard - which was closed in 1996 - and has since been undergoing different stages of redevelopment. A very nice waterfront park has been developed by the City of North Charleston, and the area has incredible potential.

Currently several of the buildings are being used for different purposes (Celedon Furniture Warehouse, Urban Electric Company, Coast Brewing Company), but several structures still sit vacant and in decay. This particular building is located on N. Hobson Ave. in what appears to have been the "main street" of the Navy Base. The shot was taken at the front entry to the building, with the opposite building frontages along Hobson reflecting in the windows. I like how the shot appears as if it includes multiple exposures, but it is actually only one.
