Four Wires April to October 2020

In the spring of 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic ‘lockdown’ significantly slowed down life, I found myself spending a lot of time on my front porch. The hours there became a refuge from the anxiety and uncertainty unleashed by the pandemic. While sitting there, I began to notice and appreciate the calm in the beauty of the environment that surrounded me, including four wires that crossed each other and sagged above the street. In April, I began to documented these wires and the skies they framed. I didn’t really have a plan for the images, and I figured I’d be able to continue to document these random scenes for the foreseeable future. However, sometime in October, a fifth wire was suspended above the street. The scene had changed, and it was not as visually appealing to me. I decided it was time move on.
