I once heard public transportation described as a ‘great equalizer’. Robust public transportation systems are one of the few institutions in society that bring together people across demographic spectrums. Riding Together is my on-going project documenting the chaos, the grit, the banality, the change encounters, and the bizzare interactions we experience as briefly join together on subway platforms, metro railcars, and ferries in cities around the world.
