Jared Bramblett photographs the places we move through together and the places that are slowly moving without us.

Based in Charleston, South Carolina, he is drawn to evidence of time: a vintage car occupying a street corner it has long outlasted, coastlines surrendering to rising seas, strangers briefly sharing common ground in a subway car before disappearing into the city.

He moves through the world with a camera, walking streets and riding transit systems, alert to the moments that only being there makes possible. Trained as an engineer specializing in water resources and flood resilience, he brings a technical understanding of landscape and infrastructure to his photography without reducing it to illustration.

Since 2020, he has documented sea level rise and tidal flooding in the South Carolina Lowcountry through Mean High Water, an ongoing project recording how coastal communities live alongside water that is slowly reclaiming their streets, yards, and homes.

His work has appeared in The Bitter Southerner, Garden & Gun, Burnaway, Charleston Magazine, and Southern Cultures. He has spoken about Imagining Our Future with Water at TEDxCharleston.
